Nog vijftien minuten en dan is Tom aan bod. We zijn heel benieuwd of hij kiest voor de verrassende optie of voor de gewone speech die hij heeft geschreven. Ook hopen we ontzettend dat Milan nog een attack krijgt. Blijf kijken.
Tom's committee is Foreign Affiars met als resolutie: 'How should the EU deal with current candidate countries in the light of the membership application of Iceland? Should the current membership criteria be re-assessed to ensure a balance between equality and conditionality?' En de tijd is daar, het laatste debat...yeah, Tom nailed it! Helemaal goed, zelfs in de chat van de stream kwamen de positieve reacties binnen.

SPEECH TOM
'Dear mister president, members of the board, fellow delegates, spange teachers,

I’m going to tell you a legend of faraway times. Once upon a time, far, far away in the North, was the island of Coldland, where the happy little snowmen lived in the oldest still functioning democracy. They were a peaceful country with a great love of fishing, but lived very detached from the magnificent Union of Unity in the South.
One day the Vikings came to live in Coldland. At first they lived together in perfect harmony and amazing prosperity, but on an evil day the Vikings decided to make even more magic money out of thin air and thus sent the entire population of snowmen into poverty. More or less at the same time, far away in the deep south, the funny Crolatians had been trying to be accepted in the Union of Unity, improving itself to meet the criteria of Ceupeneugen, for about six years. Their prognosis for acceptance in the Union of Unity was 2011. Even further to the southeast the powerful people of the ancient empire of Attaturkia had been begging to become a part of the mighty Union for over fifteen years, but still had no prospect of becoming one of the happy United peoples. Having seen their people being dragged down into the mouldy swamp of debts, the Coldlandish ministers then realised the danger of losing everything their happy country stood for. They decided, although they had never wanted their snowy, fishery existence to end like this, to obtain the mighty currency of the Union of Unity, the Uno. But the union decided in all its ancient wisdom that the Uno was not to be acquired without joining the Union itself. Reluctantly, the Coldlanders accepted and started their preparations to meet the Ceupeneugen criteria; they were also prognosed to join the Union in 2011, but that raised question about the overall idea of enlarging the union of unity. That is where we are now in our legend and the happy Union juniors on Foreign Affairs 1 present the following solutions: To approve of the current Ceupeneugen criteria and the normal application process, even it goes faster than average. They also want to allow minor exceptions as for example the phased implementation of the Union’s stricter fishing policy and providing Coldland with financial support in the form of two loans to drag them out of the swamp. Let us save the happy snowman from Coldland and embrace them in the warmth of the Union as well as any other country meeting the Ceupeneugen criteria. That, my lads, is today’s lesson.'

Helaas heeft Milan de attack niet gekregen. Het debat is klaar, nu nog de Closing Ceremony en dan is de General Assembly over. Het was lang, maar leuk.
